Why Do I Need an Invitation Letter to Kyrgyzstan?
Kyrgyzstan has one of the most liberal visa policies in Central Asia, with visa-free access or e-visas available to many nationalities. However, some travelers are still required to obtain a Letter of Invitation (LOI) when applying for a visa at an embassy.
The LOI confirms the traveler’s purpose and itinerary and must come from a licensed Kyrgyz tour operator or hosting organization.
You may need an LOI if:
- Your country is not eligible for visa-free travel or e-visa
- You are applying for a long-term or multiple-entry visa
- The embassy or immigration requires additional confirmation for your trip

Electronic Visa (E-visa)
Since 1 September 2017, all nationals can apply online. Entry allowed via Manas or Osh airports or land borders with:
- China - Irkeshtam, Torugart
- Kazakhstan - Ak-jol, Ak-Tilek, Chaldybar, Chon-Kapka
- Tajikistan - Bor-Dobo, Kulundu, Kyzyl-Bel
- Uzbekistan - Dostuk
