Day tour to Munyak: Embark on an adventurous tour to Muynak, where you'll encounter the eerie "Cemetery of Ships"—rusted iron hulls scattered across the Aralkum Desert, a vast new desert that has emerged from the dried bed of the once-mighty Aral Sea. Once the fourth-largest lake in the world, the Aral Sea's retreat has left this haunting scene of abandoned vessels.
Continue your journey with a visit to the Savitsky Art Museum, often referred to as the "Louvre of the East." Established in 1966, this remarkable museum boasts a collection of over 82,000 items, ranging from ancient Khorezmian artifacts to Karakalpak folk art and Uzbek fine art. It also holds the world's second-largest collection of Russian avant-garde works, surpassed only by the Russian Museum in St. Petersburg.
09:00 Start your adventure day tour. (If you are arriving by an early morning flight, the tour can be started earlier. Airport pick up is free of charge). Visit Savitsky Art Museum. The museum is home to one of the largest collections of archeological objects and folk, applied and contemporary art originating from Central Asia.
Drive to Ancient Complex Mizdakhan. The ancient complex keeps a lot of secrets and even mystical legends and beliefs. There is a small madrasah called sometimes “World Clock”, which served as the burial place of one of the saints. According to the legend every year, this building loses one brick from the masonry, and when the building collapses, the world will come to the end.
Drive to Muynak. Lunch in a local cafe. Visit Muynak Museum and the "Cemetery of ships" - former Sea port of Muynak. Today tourists arrive in Muynak in great numbers to see the cemetery of ships – corroded iron bulks amid the Aralkum desert, a new desert that has formed on the bottom of the former Aral Sea.
Drive back to Nukus. Drop off at the hotel.
