Tour itinerary
Day 1: Khiva → Darwaza
07:30 Drive to the Turkmenistan border point Shavat-Dashoguz (go through formalities on both checkpoints). Cross 1.5 km the neutral zone (minibus available as a transfer between borders for 1 EUR). With your invitation letter you will be able to get your Turkmenistan visas at the border.
Please note: Depending on the number of people waiting to cross the border you will need to wait up to one or two hours, also be prepared to be thoroughly searched.
On the Turkmenistan side of the border, our driver and guide will meet you and drive to Darwaza Gas Crater located in the middle of Karakym desert. Enjoy the dinner upon arrival. Overnight in Yurts.
Day 2: Darwaza → Ashgabat
Breakfast in the Yurt camp.
Drive to Ashgabat by passing Mud Crater and Water crater.
Arrive in Ashgabat and check-in the hotel.
Start sightseeing. Visit National Museum, Nissa (UNESCO), Turkmenbashi Mosque, Independence Park, Nautrality Arch, Wedding Palace, Ferris Wheel, Makhtumkuli Park, Akhal Teke Horse Stable. Drop off at the hotel. Free time. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 3: Ashgabat → Mary → Merw → Bukhara
Breakfast at the hotel.
Drive to Mary. Arrive in Mary and visit Orthodox Church and Local Bazaar.
Drive to Ancient Merw (UNESCO). After visiting drive to the border point BP Farap/Alat (Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan border) and cross the border.
On the Uzbekistan side of the border, our driver will meet you and drive to Bukhara.
Drop off at the hotel. Overnight at the hotel.
Transfer services from/to borders of Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan are included.
