Types of Uzbek Dance

There are two primary categories of Uzbek dance:

1. Traditional Classical Dance
2. National (Folklore) Dance

Traditional Classical Dance

This form is taught in professional dance schools and performed on stage. There are three prominent schools:

1. Khorezm School - Known for its energetic and expressive style. The "Lazgi" dance is the most iconic from this region.
2. Fergana School - Characterized by fluid and graceful movements, often performed during celebrations and weddings.
3. Bukhara School - Noted for its intricate hand gestures and elegant costumes with gold embroidery.

National (Folklore) Dance

Folklore dance is less formal and more spontaneous, rich in local traditions. Each region adds its own flair, with cheerful and lyrical movements that reflect the spirit of the community.
