Humo Arena, also known as the Ice Dome Tashkent, is the largest indoor sports and entertainment venue in Central Asia. Opened in 2019, this state-of-the-art multifunctional arena is located in the heart of Tashkent and serves as a major hub for sporting events, concerts, and cultural performances.
The Humo Arena is a multifunctional complex with a seating capacity of 12,500 for sports events and up to 10,000 for concerts. Named after the mythical bird Humo, a symbol of happiness and freedom in Uzbek folklore, the arena's architecture is inspired by the shape of this legendary creature. The pedestrian paths around the complex form the wings of the Humo bird, creating a symbolic and modern design.
Construction began in February 2017, and the arena officially opened on March 15, 2019. The Ice Palace spans an area of 74,000 square meters and comprises two main parts: a training arena and a central competition arena. The main rink measures 30x60 meters and is suitable for hosting professional ice hockey matches and figure skating competitions.
In addition to ice sports, the Humo Arena is equipped to host a wide range of other events, including basketball, volleyball, handball, futsal, boxing, taekwondo, and curling. The flexible seating arrangement allows for quick transitions between different sports and concert formats.
