Gijjak - Traditional Uzbek Music Instrument

Instrument of Uzbek Music - G'ijjak

G'ijjak - a finger-board instrument with dome-shaped resonator, the surface of which is covered by leather membrane. It has four strings. Sound is produced using a bow (kamon).

  • Chang (struck zither)

Wind

  • Karnay (long trumpet)
  • Nay (side-blown flute)
  • Qoshnay (clarinet like instrument made from reed)
  • Surnay (loud oboe)
