Doira (also spelled Doyra, Dojra, Dajre, or Dajreja) is a traditional frame drum with jingles used in Uzbekistan to accompany both popular and classical music. It consists of a circular wooden frame with animal skin stretched across it, typically held in place with glue and cloth. Some Doira instruments include small metal rings to produce a tambourine-like sound.
This percussion instrument plays a central role in Uzbek folk music and is played by striking the skin with fingers and palms. It is commonly used in festive performances, weddings, and dance music across Central Asia.
